Competitive Events

FInE offers a multitude of competitive events to motivate members to gain experience, both classroom and hands-on, in their desired fields and recognizes the skills developed in this pursuit. Events are divided into three sections: career development, academic testing, and professional skills. Career development events are meant to target specific careers. The events are project based, and members, often in groups, develop a project to address the task of the event, often giving a presentation along with their project. Judges will determine the victors based on a rubric, which will be provided in event guidelines. Academic testing events are meant to develop aptitude in fundamental courses of engineering. These events consist of multiple choice exams and contain tiebreakers question(s) to establish clear victors. Professional skills events are meant to help competitors develop qualitative aspects of engineering and skills useful for the workplace. Judges will determine the victors based on a rubric, which will be provided in event guidelines.
